Mezzano is the village of wood piles. In this countrystacking wood is an art and wood creates conscious and unaware installations throughout the country.
In the Dolomite winter is cold and freezy so the people cope with firewood to heat their homes.
This is not as tory but a photographic jouney through the canisele ( a tight alley) where you can see on the balconies of the houses - still in a sunny position next to the fireplace - arise ordered and sometimes imposing piles of wood: the canzei ( wood piles) .
Each canzeo is a small masterpiece of parsimony, skill and accuracy, but also a vivid and changing palette of warm colors of wood that color the streets of Mezzano
